Research
My primary research interest is in understanding the neural correlates of autism. More specifically, cognitive control is a major issue in neuroscience with plenty of open questions concerning the underlying mechanisms driving cortico-cortical activity as well as subcortical and cortical interactions. A long-term goal would be to better understand cortical activity and plasticity in people with autism, and then begin to build more biologically-plausible models of autistic neural function.
Another area of interest is understanding the evolutionary history of the brain. I am particularly interested in the origins of religion and altruism in humans.
